Asphalt Paving in North Bethesda, MD

Family-owned driveway paving, sealcoating, and repair for North Bethesda homeowners since 1988.

North Bethesda Driveway Paving, Local Since 1988

North Bethesda sits in an unusual spot, quiet, tree-lined neighborhoods like Luxmanor and Timberlawn just minutes from the density of Pike & Rose and White Flint. That mix means we see everything here, long established driveways on large wooded lots that have never had real base work done, and newer homes where a driveway just needs its first resurface after years of daily use. We’ve been paving in this part of the county since our first year in business.

Driveway Paving and Replacement

Some driveways just need the surface redone. Others need the whole thing pulled out and rebuilt from the base up. We’ll tell you honestly which one yours is before we ever start digging.

Driveway Widening and Extensions

More parking, a turnaround, or extra room tied in cleanly to the existing surface.

Sealcoating

We match the method to the driveway — oil-based sealer applied under pressure for newer surfaces, latex brushed on by hand for older ones.

Crack Filling and Patching

Hot rubberized filler and infrared patching to stop a small problem before it becomes a full replacement.

Resurfacing and Overlay

If the base is still sound but the surface is worn, a fresh layer on top can save the cost of a full tear-out. We’ll tell you honestly if your driveway qualifies.

Culvert Pipe Replacement

Collapsed or rusted pipes under a driveway cause sinkholes and standing water. It’s a job most paving companies avoid because of the permit process. We handle it regularly.

White Flint

North Bethesda’s urban core, centered around Pike & Rose, with a mix of residential streets close to heavy retail and commercial traffic.

Why North Bethesda Driveways Are Different

North Bethesda carries more daily traffic than most residential areas in the county. Pike & Rose alone draws shoppers and commuters through neighborhoods that were built for quiet residential streets, not retail-district overflow. The North Bethesda and Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro stations add steady commuter traffic on top of that, and NIH sits close enough that its employees fill nearby streets every weekday morning.

Old Georgetown Road, one of the area’s main corridors, roughly follows the historic Seneca Trail, a route Native American communities used along the Potomac long before it became a paved commuter road. That kind of steady, centuries-old travel corridor means the residential streets feeding into it take real wear.

Tilden Middle School’s drop-off and pickup lines add their own daily traffic pattern through the surrounding streets. Between the school traffic, the Metro commuters, and the retail overflow from Pike & Rose, North Bethesda driveways see more repeat, heavy use than a lot of other parts of the county, and it shows up in how fast they wear.

Full Driveway Resurface for Phil in Timberlawn

North Bethesda, MD — Completed 2026

What We Found

Phil’s driveway on Magic Mountain Ct, about 4,060 square feet, had reached the point where cracking had spread across most of the surface. He researched multiple companies and got several estimates before deciding, and told us later that ours was by far the most thorough evaluation and explanation he received.

What We Did

We removed 140 to 160 square feet of cracked asphalt and hauled it away, then milled the driveway down in key areas so everything would meet flush. We laid 3 inches of base asphalt in the areas we rebuilt and compacted it with a 3 to 5 ton roller. Once the base was set, we cleaned the driveway and applied a tack coat so the layers would bond, then machine-laid 2.5 inches of topping asphalt across the full 4,060 square feet and power rolled it to a smooth, consistent finish. Banked all the edges at a 45 degree angle and cleaned up the site before we left.

The Result

Phil’s driveway went from cracked and worn to a fully resurfaced, smooth surface, done on a schedule that worked around his convenience. One-year workmanship warranty included.

“I researched companies and got a couple of estimates. Mike at Stanley Asphalt was by far the most thorough evaluation and explanation. Super easy to work with. Flexible in scheduling at our convenience. Did a great job at a reasonable price. I highly recommend.”
